Jussi Halla-aho is a researcher, professor, philologist. He has spoken in the Ukrainian Parliament together with speakers of six EU countries and the president of NATO Parliamentary assembly. In the beginning of his speech, Mr Halla-aho reminded that in 1939 Finland has faced the same aggression from the USSR as Ukraine faces now, and Finns remember this very clearly.

Mr Halla-aho spoke about being sorry that Russia has never truly changed after the Cold war was over and the USSR broke down. "Like then, today it respects neither the international law nor obligations. It does not value its own life or the lives of others. It thinks it has veto powers on its neighbors' choices, veto powers on their existence even. Russia respects and understands power. Force is the necessary reply to Russian imperialism," the speaker said.
