The Trump administration is eliminating $60 billion in foreign aid after Salvadoran President Bukele was one of the first world leaders to blow the whistle on USAID corruption years ago.
In 2021, Bukele publicly exposed how "US taxpayers' money is used to fund communist movements against a democratically elected government" after USAID redirected El Salvador funding from his administration to opposition groups despite his 90% approval rating.
Four years later, Trump's audit confirmed Bukele's warnings, resulting in cutting 5,800 of 6,200 USAID contracts worldwide.
