Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s Labour government voted against a national inquiry into grooming gangs, arguing that previous investigations had already exposed the key failures.

Critics, including some Labour MPs, say a full inquiry is necessary to uncover the full scale of the problem and ensure justice for victims.

Far-right activist Tommy Robinson was jailed in 2018 for live-streaming outside a grooming gang trial, violating strict UK court rules meant to protect fair trials.
