My dear mentor, Bob Giles, has passed away. At noon on February 14, 2007, I received a call from him, welcoming me to Harvard with a kind voice. It was also the golden age of Sino-US relations, when we tirelessly learned the best values of America. I miss that era, and Bob. RIP.
